::
Hogsmeade's twilight of murky grey was in its final stage. flitting between the shaddows the Baron began to search for
an estate agents.
Spotting one on a corner he strutted over and peered into the window::
Sir. Regulus
Strutting....I
mean striding also down the street, though not in search of an estate agents, came Regulus.
Now it didn't take a lot
for Regulus to note, someone slipping in and out of the shadows and then suddenly re-appear at the window of the local estate
agents to get his attention. But there was some else....something odd about this fellow that made Regulus really pay attention.
He sidled over to the shop next door, and looked at the window, though paid no attention to the goods on display,
if he did he would of chosen another shop entirely.
Baron
Magpyr
:: a house located
near the shriehing shack caught his attention , near but not overly close as it was not propper to associate with morbid ghosts.
The glass of the estate agents reflected at an angle a tall gentleman looking in to the window of a knitting shop. Perhaps
this would bean interesting choice of humanity to study. what drives these creatures to knit? Vlad slid over to the left in
pretext of looking at another house which was rather impractable as it had east facing windows in order to see if the gentleman
would go in:
Sir. Regulus
He noticed in the reflection of the shop window and out of the corner of his eye,
that his quarry had shifted his position, and was it him or was he looking at him? He looked at the Baron directly, smiled,
then turned back to the window, that he was gazing into.
“Yes, nice display isn’t it…” he
said, turning his head back to the shop he standing outside and then it hit him….
He finally realised what he
was in fact fake looking at…
Wool, knitting needles...jumpers....
Oh Merlin, he was standing out side
a knitting shop and now that he was looking shifty and gazing in the window for the past good knows how many minutes.... people
will think he liked knitting. He glanced back at the man,
“Oh….my well….I….hmm…Oh dear”
He ran a hand down his face.
Baron Magpyr
:: rather taken back at being spotted. Turns away from the estate agents ::
It iss
a rather interestink display, although i have never seen the facination in it myssself, knittink i mean.
:: smiles
awkwardly taking care to hide his teeth. Then steps over next to regulus. Meaning to make full use of this opportunity. stares
into the glass ::
green tea cosies seem to be the think of fashion for the present. unlucky colour green. Don't you
agree?
:: looks back to reg briefly before returning his stare back to the wool in the window::
Sir.
Regulus
"Well I suppose
so, I prefer red and black, though techniqualy Black isn't a colour..." he broke off, he was standing here have a discussion
over the colour of tea cosies.
"I don't actually knit myself, I was looking for a present for a friend of mine, a
dwarf infact, I know she enjoys kitting......beard warmers" his eyes looked back and forth from the window to the man.
"Anyway.."
Baron Magpyr
A dvarf? mmm i could never tell vhich is vhich vith dvarves if
you knov vot i mean they all look the same behind thossse beards. . .
:: wonders why he's having a discussion about
dwarves::
vell black iss a vonderfvul colour you can never go vronk vith black
:: Looks around awkwardly ::
ah! hov rude of me i fvorgot to introduce myself, Baron Vladimir Bastion Magpyr at your service!
Sir. Regulus
"Well....I understand totally" he raised an eyebrow, and he shifted uneasily on his feet.
But quickly latches onto the one normal part of this whole conversation, he didn't even hide the look of relief on
his face, but he did have this niggling thought that he knew that name.
"Pleasure to meet you Baron Magpyr, Sir Regulus
Archangel, at your service..." it always was a pleasure to meet another gentleman, he held out his hand.
Baron Magpyr
::
hessitates to shake hands but slowly shakes hands with regulus wishing that his own hands weren't so cold ::
sssir
Regulus Acrhangel?
ah a gentleman! a pleassure indeed!
:: smiles again hiding his teeth not wanting to seem
over freindly::
You must be a vizzardink Gentleman, i believe?
Sir. Regulus
(Please
no mis-interpretation of what he has said....or is doing.....))
"Yes, I am vizza...wizard gentleman, Baron..well at
least I try to be" he said with a small grin, hoping that he hadn't insulted him. So he decided to change the subject,
"Now
Baron Magpyr, I have this really niggling feeling, that I know you from so where....or at least we have meet, probably briefly"
he placed his hands in his trousor pockets, to regain some form of feeling, my the Baron had cold hands.
"I may be
mistaken, but I tend not to forget a face or at least another gentleman"
Baron Magpyr
::His smile begins to fade a little as he begins to think::
Yesss i believe ve musst
have met at leasst your name isss familiar.
*ponders*
Alasss i have been avay fvrom thisss part of the country
fvor qvite sssome time to do vith your minissstry.
Do i perchance knov you
fvrom the school a fvormer teacher perhaps?
Sir. Regulus
“Well
no, not a teacher, I work for the ministry, but I do know many of the teaching staff at Hogwarts…” he paused,
wait a minute is he talking to ex-convicted felon? He shifted a little uneasy, but another thought came to mind, if he knew
him then that clearly shouldn’t be a problem.
“Is there anyone in particular you know at the school? Perhaps
we might know the same people, and that’s how we’ve met?”
Baron
Magpyr
ah you're ministry!
:: his
smile falters. was this one of those wizards who had put him away for a spell in the ministry stronghold. ::
vell
i did lecture hissstory of magic to the advanced ssstudents alonkside professor Binnss.
Perhapsss you knov my good
friendsss Lady Nettles and Nightshade or a Miss Delanc?
:: smiles confidently knowing he named respectable magic folk
::
Sir. Regulus
Noting the smile falter on the Baron's face.
"Yes...I work for the International
Confederation" he smiled slightly, and moved swiftly on to the other line of enquiry,
"Well of course I do, Alexis
Nightshade is my god-daughter, Lady I know through Alexis and through her work at the Ministry, and Miss Delanc...though she
is known as Mrs Lupin now, is a dear friend and work colleague" a faint memory popped into his mind.
“In fact
I think we met before Catherine’s wedding….”
Baron Magpyr
ah! so ve do knov sssome of the sssame people! Although it seemss they are all the ministrys vorkers.
:: he gives a genuine smile::
Did we meet at the leaky couldron? I think i do remember!
Although Miss
Delanc married? mmm to the fvormer professor Lupin? my my i did not see that one commink!
:: grins ::
Sir. Regulus
"Yes,
it appears that way, though I'm not sure how much longer Alexis will remain with the Ministry, she's getting rather attached
to being Hogwarts Librarian....I defiently didn't see that one coming" he grinned,
"Your not alone on that one, but
yes they are happily married" he leant back on his heels, well this was turning out to be a very charming conversation between
two men...
"So what are you up to Baron?" he asked.
Baron Magpyr
i am house huntink!
i have little use for my ancestral home as my brother is currently in residence!
but truthly i have allvays prefered
thisss county it is alot more tolerant than my own.
i hope to regain my good friends here!
do you knov of
any suitable rooms available close to Hogsmeade?
Sir.
Regulus
He blinked,
"Well
I'm sure you will Baron, regain your old friends? Did you just drop out of contact?" he asked,
"Oh and as for renting
rooms....uhm I do not to be honest, have you considered putting an advert in the daily prophet? Or indeed checking there first?
OH...but of course..." he grinned, remembering something, "You could try at the Silver Phoenix, Im sure you remember Alexis's
and Amber's Inn?
Well it's back up and running, In fact it's just round the corner"
Baron Magpyr
:: blinks::
i was jusst out of contact for a lonk time
...
no i had not thought of the prophet. nor of the silver pheonix!
::smiles::
you have been of great
help ssir!
I am ssure to find rooms there by daybreak!
indeed you vere at my service and nov I am totaly at
yours!
perhapss you vould care for an opinion on the beard varmer that i have dragged you away from?!
Sir. Regulus
"Well I try my best, it is my job after all to advise and to be helpful"
he smiled slightly at the beard warmer comment,
"Yes..well you haven't dragged me away from...it.....though I'm always
looking for fresh opinions when it comes to...beard warmers..." he muttered the last part.
"Anyway....I think getting
a stiff drink sounds like great idea to me, so shall we head over to the Silver Phoenix, then prehaps we can get you a room
at the same time?"
Baron Magpyr
Indeed that is a good idea!
It has been some time since i vas lassst in hogsmeade
it hass changed alot!
There never used to be an estate agents here!
perhapsss
you should lead the way and i buy drinksss!
ProfessorDeLanc
*At
that particular moment a shop door flung open and a blur of yellow, white and black went whizzing by. If one looked down on
the ground, like a lot of people did at that moment, Catherine DeLanc was seen on her buttocks in the middle of the street.*
I'M ON TO YOU! *she cried at the door slammedat the door slammed in her face.* YOU CAN'T HIDE FOREVER!
Sir. Regulus
"And last I looked
there was a knitting shop either" he smiled slightly, and began to walk in the direction of the Inn.
"If you would care to follow me Bar...." he broke off, and the outburst from a lady....Hang on a moment, that blur
that went whizzing by, look famaliar as did the voice.
His eyes feel on the crumpled heap, that had landed in the
middle of the street.
"Catherine?! What on earth?" he strode over to her, bent down and held out a hand to her.
"You
know I thought that was you whizzing by"
Baron
Magpyr
::
his attention turns from regulus to Catherine::
Good grief!
:: crosses over to the pair::
Are you
qvite alright ?
ProfessorDeLanc
*She
took Regulus' hand and he helped her up.* There's a Death Eater in the family that owns the shop. We've got evidence leading
up to the man, but nothing to actually charge him with anything. I came to ask a few questions- very nicely I might add- and
then he started arguing and insults flew and when I argued back... he tossed me out.
*Catherine now had time to notice
the new, and yet familiar voice. Catherine looked over at Vlad. She never forgot a face.* Baron Magpyr! Is that really you?
Sir. Regulus
“Well that’s most uncalled for…. and most unintelligent of the shop owner,
tossing out an Auror…” he shock his head, and glanced at the Baron.
Baron Magpyr
::
nods in agreement with reg ::
Indeed disgracefvul behaviour! He isss obvioussly no gentleman. Indeed milady
Catherine it iss me. Hov do you do?
ProfessorDeLanc
Well,
I'm a little sore right now, *she said rubbing her backside,* but other than that I'm doing just fine. My niece is coming
back to England, my best friend is getting
married soon, I made an arrest a while back... life is good.
Sir. Regulus
"Maybe
you would care to join us Catherine? We where going to have a small drink, but prehaps we should go for a small walk..if your
feeling sore" he said this entirely straight faced.
Baron Magpyr
::
breaks into a grin but quickly composes himself ::
Indeed Lady Catherine it vould be delightfvul for you to join usss.
I am glad all iss vell.
A niece you sssay have ve met? I do not remember meeting any of your family. I pressume
ssshe iss stayink vith you.
I dare ssay a valk vould be very beneficial.
